Army of the Ant European Tour
November 28, 2023 – Rockhal, Luxembourg
Here are the pioneers of the techno scene of the 1990’s, with their trademark fusion of techno, breakbeat and rock elements inspired by punk music. After the tragic passing of frontman Keith Flint in 2019, his bandmates Liam Howlett and Maxim returned to the stage for the first time in 2022 with a headline tour in the UK.
The band kicks off with ‘Breathe’ as frontman Maxim makes his entrance in a storm of strobe lights and to the blasting sound of synths, then he heads into the crowd, sharing his energetic vibe with the audience, while Liam stands behind a sea of music synthesisers and laptops.
Maxim is doubtlessly a captivating singer with a never-dropping high level of energy, making the crowd go nuts from the get go, dancing and jumping with abandon.
As a tribute to the late singer, a giant hooded statue towers over the mixing desk and shoots green laser beams from its eyes across the hall, outlining the silhouette of Keith Flint’s dancing at the rhythm of Firestarter.
Keith’s stage presence was so strong that some people doubted if the band could go on without him after he died. But tonight they definitely stood the test.
