With songs ranging from pop, r’n’b, soul, and rock, British singer-songwriter James Arthur has proven time and again that his powerful voice knows no boundaries. His career, after winning the ninth edition of The X Factor 2012, includes four studio albums with chart-topping hits like his cover of “Impossible” by Shontekke and countless sold-out concerts.
James was supported by an excellent group of musicians and he did not disappoint despite being on the mend from the flu (a warm cup of tea next to the mic stand was maybe of some help – still, what an amazing voice!). He sang songs from his new album Bitter Sweet Love and included the old favourites.
He was able to establish an amazing exchange with the crowd, where you could feel a special harmony uniting different generations. James Arthur speaks to so many people as he is not afraid of dealing with subjects such as anxiety and depression. He surely touched the inner chords of his fans, who shed some tears but also were treated to some funny moments during the humorous small talk between songs.
A mesmerised crowd, sublime vocals, masterful guitar playing … it all made up a memorable and somewhat cathartic show.
