Bleach Nirvana Tribute

April 07, 2024 – L’Entrepôt, Arlon, BE

To celebrate Kurt Cobain’s legacy on the 30th anniversary of his death, Bleach Nirvana Tribute took us on a wild ride through the whole length of the grunge band’s catalog.

BLEACH are a tribute band from Rome, Italy, who toured in 2018 with Chad Channing, former Nirvana drummer. They have given more than 120 concerts in Belgium alone, with many sold-out concerts.

Daniele (vocals and guitar), Mattia (bass) and Roberto (drums) delivered a wild and heavy performance and the crowd was ecstatic and crazed from the start. Daniele gets very close to Kurt’s raspy and twangy voice, which is no easy job, and he reproduces Kurt’s moves and gait in an uncanny way.

These guys can stir the whole range of emotions experienced when  you listen to Nirvana, from the anger of Smells Like Teen Spirit  to the ansgt of Something in the Way.

We were treated to the Nirvana-style end-of-show anarchy, with on-stage chaos, visual and acustic agression from the strobo lights and the looping guitar feedback.

It  takes a brave soul to cover a band as sacred as Nirvana and you must be ready to take in a lot of critcism, but this can be a chance for those who did not have the opportunity to see the real thing to experience the power and energy that a Nirvana show would have produced.

It was indeed pretty cool to see a whole new generation of young fans who shared the pit and moshed with the older one.

We might wonder, would Kurt Cobain have ever approved of this kind of thing? Oh well, whatever, nevermind…
